The need for sintering:
Powdered metal is pressed to form the desired shape of the part. Because the powder contains chemical binders that affect the strength and density of the workpiece, the workpiece needs to be sintered at high temperatures to remove excess impurities and molecular gaps, and the sintered part then has strong mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy.
Different sintering methods:
The pressed parts are not strong and very fragile and are called powder metallurgy sintered parts.
Sintering is a critical process in the powder metallurgy process. The molded billet is sintered to obtain the required final physical and mechanical properties. Sintering is divided into unit system sintering and multi-system sintering. In addition to ordinary sintering, there are special sintering processes such as loose loading sintering, melt dipping method, hot pressing method and so on.
Parts that are not sintered are very fragile,”raw blanks” are not yet ready for immediate use and in their current state only form the complex shape of the product, which needs to be sintered before it can be applied to the project.
After sintering the part has reached the working standard, when the physical strength and mechanical properties are guaranteed.
